• Draft Local Plan Consultation

As local residents will likely be aware, North Norfolk District Council (NNDC) is currently producing a new Local Plan which will guide development in North Norfolk up to 2036. A six-week consultation period on the Local Plan is due to take place soon (from Tuesday 7th May to Wednesday 19th June 2019), giving local residents, businesses and organisations an opportunity to consider the content of the First Draft Local Plan and to let the district council know if any changes are considered necessary. Further information can be found in the Notice Of Draft Local Plan Consultation.

During this consultation period, a drop-in event will be held at which proposals outlined in the Draft Local Plan may be discussed with district council planning officers. This event is due to take place on Thursday 23rd May, 2.30pm to 7.30pm, at the Broadland Youth & Community Centre, Stalham Road, NR12 8DJ.

North Norfolk District Council is keen to receive all feedback on the First Draft Local Plan, whether local residents object to or support an element of the plan or simply wish to make general comments. From Tuesday 7th May, comments can be submitted to NNDC via http://consult.north-norfolk.gov.uk/portal. In the meantime, further information about the First Draft Local Plan can be found at www.north-norfolk.gov.uk/localplan.

Hoveton Parish Council will consider the content of the First Draft Local Plan during the advertised consultation period, and will provide feedback to North Norfolk District Council as part of the consultation process. Though your Parish Council endeavours to keep local residents updated on all matters relating to the Local Plan, residents are asked to please note that Hoveton Parish Council is not a planning authority, but is merely a consultee in terms of planning matters. Your Parish Council has not been formally consulted on the First Draft Local Plan by North Norfolk District Council and it has not had input into any decisions taken by the district council in relation to the Local Plan.

  • Christmas Lights 2019

Though it may seem a little early in the year to be thinking about Christmas, 25th December will no doubt arrive far sooner than expected, and planning ahead is a must when it comes to organising celebrations for the festive period.

HPC was recently contacted by a local resident who would like to see a more extensive display of Christmas lights this year across the villages of Hoveton and Wroxham. The resident is keen to get involved in organising this year’s lights, but they can’t do this alone, so local volunteers are currently being sought to form a Christmas Lights committee to raise funds for new lights and make the necessary arrangements. If you’d like to get involved and help bring a little extra sparkle to Hoveton’s Christmas, please get in touch!

  • HPC Budget 2019-2020

Following the finalisation of our 2018-2019 financial year-end position, Hoveton Parish Council is pleased to be able to share (as we do every year) our approved budget plans for the coming year:

    Hoveton Parish Council Budget 2019-2020

Further information about the Parish Council’s financial processes can be found on our Finance page. All relevant financial documents are also published here on the Council’s website (view Financial Documents), and this year our RFO has also produced a helpful guide to the setting of the Parish Precept (Your Parish Precept Explained).

  • Elections Update (Parish)

Thank you to the community volunteers listed in the document below, who have again stepped forward to serve the village of Hoveton as Parish Councillors:

Statement Of Persons Nominated For Parish Council (2nd May 2019)

This is an uncontested election (meaning no poll will be held) as unfortunately only 7 of Hoveton Parish Council’s 12 available seats have been filled via this nomination process. There are therefore still opportunities for anyone interested in joining the Parish Council. Please visit our Becoming A Parish Councillor page to find out more.

  • Elections Update (District)

Nominated candidates for the Hoveton & Tunstead Ward in the upcoming North Norfolk District Council elections have now been announced. Two councillors will be elected from the list of candidates below:
