  • Planning Application BA/2019/0385/COND

    Hoveton Parish Council has been invited to comment on the following local planning application:

    Proposal: Rebuild the existing parapets to the gable ends with the increased height of the chimneys to 1.8m min. above the thatched roof, depth of extension increased, and amended design to dormers as per submitted plans, variation of condition 2 of permission BA/2018/0495/HOUSEH.

    As there is no scheduled Parish Council meeting before the end of the consultation period, this application will be considered by Hoveton Parish Council in accordance with ‘Option 2’ of its Planning Protocol.

  • Persimmon Community Engagement Events

    Please see below for details of planned community engagement events with Persimmon over their development at Brook Park:

    1. Persimmon will attend HPC’s meeting on 2nd December to update the community on matters outstanding in the completion of Brook Park Phase 1. We have allocated approx 30 minutes of the meeting to hear from Persimmon regarding the status of their work and to allow time for councillors or members of the public to pose questions.

    2. In relation to Persimmon’s “Phase 2” proposal (to roughly double the size of the estate on the land towards Tunstead Road) we are currently negotiating with Persimmon on a suitable date to hold a public consultation event at Hoveton Village Hall. This event would comprise an exhibition of the Phase 2 plans and would be followed by an open meeting in the Village Hall, chaired by the Parish Council, to take questions and comments from the community. We have of course invited Persimmon to attend this meeting.

    Hoveton Parish Council noted the following local planning application at its meeting of Monday 4th November 2019:

    Proposal: Use of playing field for car boot sales 8.00am – 1.00pm on Mondays to Fridays and 8.00am – 1.00pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

    The Parish Council noted that despite the wording of this application, the intention is for car boot sales to be held only on Friday and Sunday mornings. The Hoveton Village Hall Management Committee has been asked to write to Hoveton Parish Council to formally confirm these intentions.
