  • Latest Public Transport Information

Norfolk County Council has put together a list of links to assist local residents with finding the latest information about what public transport services are operating in the local area. The document offers links to the most up-to-date source of information, as bus operators have been changing services at relatively short notice as they react to official government guidance and the latest situation (please note that most bus stop information on the street will not be up to date). Members of the public who are having trouble accessing essential services or supplies are advised to call the Norfolk helpline (0344 800 8020).

Meanwhile, Hoveton Parish Council has been contacted by Konectbus Ltd with an update on the action Konectbus is taking during the current COVID-19 emergency. Konectbus has introduced emergency timetables that aim to support the government advice about reducing the number of people at work and travelling – particularly on public transport. Their objective is to provide transport for key workers and access to food shops and medical facilities for those who depend upon them. Photocopied timetables will be available on the buses. For those travelling, Konectbus has enhanced cleaning and wipe downs on their buses and usage is very low, enabling 2m distances to be maintained. • NNDC Local Community Co-ordination Centres

As the Government’s message to older and vulnerable people to self-isolate to protect themselves from the spread of the Coronavirus takes effect, Norfolk County Council and North Norfolk District Council have written to residents in our area with details of helplines they can contact if they need assistance in the coming weeks with shopping, accessing personal items or prescriptions or other non-emergency support.

In order to fulfil requests for assistance, North Norfolk District Council has developed a hub and bespoke support model throughout our area, with a physical co-ordination presence at ten Local Co-ordination Centres, including a centre based at Hoveton Village Hall (please note that these centres will not be open to the public, and should only be accessed by community volunteers). For further details of this project, please visit NNDC’s website.
