• The Bridge Magazine Update

Hoveton Parish Council has been informed that, due to the Coronavirus situation, April’s edition of The Bridge magazine will not be distributed in the normal way. A small number of free copies, printed in black and white only, have been placed in a number of pick-up points including Roys petrol station shop, Roys supermarket, Hoveton post office, and Reads Pharmacy (Station Road, Hoveton). However, please remember that in order to minimise social contact, you should only collect this magazine if you are visiting these locations for essential supplies. We hope to be able to share an electronic copy of the magazine on our website and Facebook page soon.

  • Community Car Scheme Update

Hoveton Parish Council has been advised that Hoveton and Wroxham’s Community Car Scheme is to be wound down. The trustees are very sad that it has become necessary to end this service but the volunteer drivers are all in the ‘at risk’ category and the co-ordinator is no longer able to carry on due to her family circumstances.

Many Hoveton and Wroxham residents will have benefitted over the years from this wonderful service, which has operated with the goodwill of all the volunteer drivers and various co-ordinators. Unfortunately, over the last few years it has been difficult to find enough volunteers to keep the scheme going and now, sadly, the current problems caused by Covid-19 has resulted in the trustees having to face the decision to wind the scheme down.

The trustees would like to thank all those who have used and supported the Car Scheme over the years. It is with a heavy heart that they bring it to a close.

  • Coronavirus Contingency & Action Plan

The following plan sets out the contingency measures Hoveton Parish Council will bring into effect as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. The plan aims to ensure the Council will be able to operate its business to the best of its abilities throughout this public health emergency while protecting, as far as is reasonably possible, its members, employees, and volunteers:

HPC Coronavirus Contingency & Action Plan

This plan has been prepared with reference to the latest advice issued by the UK Government, the Society of Local Council Clerks and the National Association of Local Councils, and with reference to the Parish Council’s Standing Orders and Financial Regulations, and it is in keeping with the measures being taken by other parish councils across the country. The plan will be continuously reviewed and updated to take account of the changing status of the pandemic.
