• Hoveton Village Hall Needs You!

In 2016, Hoveton Parish Council agreed to become sole trustee of the Hoveton Village Hall & Recreation Ground charity in order to protect the Village Hall and ensure this wonderful facility would remain open. A small but dedicated team of volunteers (the Hoveton Village Hall Management Committee) now oversees the day-to-day running of the Hall and has already made huge improvements to the range of facilities and events on offer. However, this committee consists of only four volunteers (including two members of your already shorthanded Parish Council) so more help is needed if Hoveton Village Hall is to survive and thrive.

Why not get involved and give something back to your local community? After all, nobody cares more about your Village Hall than you! For further details or to chat about what’s involved, please contact Cllr Jilly Gourlay (07818 214277 or twinklingjilly@gmail.com) or come along to the Hoveton Village Hall Management Committee’s AGM on Friday 28th June at 7pm (please note change of date from 27th June), in the Jubilee Room at Hoveton Village Hall.

  • Granary Staithe Charity Day

Don’t forget to visit Granary Staithe on Sunday 16th June for our Charities Open Day. This fun, free event is a great opportunity to find out more about the work of local charities and community groups. Exhibitors due to attend include the Broads Society; the Wherry Yacht Charter Charitable Trust (who will be bringing a wherry into the Staithe’s dyke); Wroxham Bure Valley Rotary Club; and Hoveton Parish Council itself.

This event was sadly cancelled last year due to bad weather but, all being well, it should be taking place this year between 11am and 4pm. We hope to see you there!
