• Emergency Road Closure (Neatishead Road, Horning)

    HPC has just received notice from Norfolk County Council that, owing to emergency BT works to replace a frame and cover, the use by vehicles of the C401 Neatishead Road from its junction with Long Lane for a distance of 100 metres southwards will be temporarily prohibited from 1st February to 5th February 2019. Alternative route is via Horning Road, Norwich Road, A1151 Stalham Road, A1062 Horning Road/Ropes Hill, Neatishead Road (Hoveton, Neatishead, Ashmanhaugh, Horning).

  • A Letter From Our Chairman

    Dear Residents,

    At its meeting in January, Hoveton Parish Council adopted a new policy to deal with vexatious or disruptive behaviour by members of the public towards councillors or council employees. It was a step that we took with heavy hearts, but sadly, over the last two years, a disproportionate amount of our time, the time of other public bodies, and your money has been spent responding to the correspondence and actions of a very small group of individuals in our village.

    HPC is completely open and transparent in the way that we operate and we are subject to annual audit with regard to our conduct as a council; we are open to and expect fair criticism; we welcome challenge and honest debate. Despite this, residents might be shocked to learn that all of the following things have happened in our village over just the last two years, all originating from this small group of just a handful of individuals:

  • Planning Application BA/2018/0512/FUL

    Hoveton Parish Council recently updated local residents on proposed improvements to The Broads Centre (Hoveton’s ‘shopping precinct’), including hard and soft landscaping, new surfaces, new seating and planters. Hoveton’s Granary Staithe, a key entrance to The Broads Centre, is included in these development plans. Your Parish Council has now been invited to comment on the resulting planning application, as follows:
