• Barclays Bank Update

Some good news for our village. Our Parish Clerk has today spoken with a representative from Barclays Bank regarding the future of Barclays’ Hoveton branch. Despite rumours circulating to the contrary in recent weeks, Barclays have informed us that they have no plans to close their Hoveton branch. Hoveton’s bank will remain OPEN, which we’re sure you’ll agree is very good news indeed. Please continue to visit our website and Facebook page for accurate and up-to-date local news. We work for you.

  • Riverside Park Boardwalk Replacement

Your Parish Council has received notice that the Broads Authority is due to replace the boardwalk between Riverside Park and Hoveton’s viaduct moorings, with work due to begin on 28th October. The project will see the installation of a 100% recycled plastic boardwalk which will last a significant time into the future, with the new boardwalk taking the exact same route as the previous wooden one. The boardwalk will be totally closed during the full period of works, though there will be access as usual on the adjacent paths and sites up to each end of the boardwalk (signs will be provided by the Broads Authority to advise of diversions and restrictions).

  • The Role Of The Parish Clerk

But what does the Parish Clerk’s role actually entail? You might be surprised to learn that a Clerk does far more than simply attending meetings, taking minutes, and replying to emails!
